Hello chocolate lovers! Why don't we celebrate our favorite indulgence by preparing a Hot Chocolate Souffle? This dessert is filled with luscious chocolate, and is simply irresistible.
Ingredients:
4 oz dark or baking chocolate
3 tbsp water
1 1/4 cups of milk
1/4 cup sugar
2-3 drops of vanilla extract
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tsp arrowroot powder
2 tbsp butter
3 egg yolks
4 egg whites
Directions:
Step 1) Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (170 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a 3 1/2 cup souffle dish. Set aside.
Step 2) Break chocolate into small pieces. Put chocolate in a saucepan, add water and stir over gentle heat until melted. Reserve 5 tbsp of milk and add the remaining to melted chocolate. Bring to a boil, and stir in sugar and vanilla extract.
Step 3) Combine reserved milk with flour and arrowroot. Add the mixture into chocolate and bring to a boil, stirring continuously. Boil for a couple of seconds. Remove pan from heat and dot the surface with butter. Cover and let it stand for 5 minutes.
Step 4) Beat egg yolks into chocolate mixture one at a time. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, and fold into mixture. Gently pour into souffle dish and place it in the center of the oven. Bake for about 45 minutes or until puffed and set. Serve immediately. If desired, dust with icing sugar or top with whipped cream.
